Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a CAD Technician/Drafter to support commercial construction projects through the preparation and revision of construction documents. The ideal candidate has experience working for an architecture, engineering, civil, surveying, or interior design firm and is comfortable collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the design process.

Essential Duties

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for construction projects using AutoCAD and related drafting software
• Collaborate closely with clients, engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and project requirements are met
• Review building codes, site requirements, and project specifications to identify impacts on building plans
• Revise and update drawings based on project changes, field conditions, and client feedback
• Conduct site visits to gather measurements, collect project data, and verify compliance with construction drawings
• Maintain organized project documentation and drawing records
• Assist with coordination between multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements/Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD Version 2018 or later
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
• Working knowledge of Revit preferred
• Understanding of commercial building codes preferred
• Knowledge of metal building construction preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to travel to project and construction sites as needed
• Ability to walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Ability to visually review technical drawings and project documents
