Endoscopy Technician I (Endo Tech)At Houston Methodist, the Endoscopy Technician I (Endo Tech) position, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician, provides support to the gastroenterology (GI) providers and other members of the healthcare team and is directly involved in patient care before, during and after procedures. This position assists with gastroenterology (GI) endoscopy procedures related to preparation for and assisting with room turnaround activities for procedures, which include cleaning and processing of endoscopes and accessory equipment. The Endo Tech I position is familiar with all endoscopy supplies and other related equipment ensuring that items are ready, available and in good working conditions at all times. Assists in cleaning room for turnover as needed.Prepares for the procedure by organizing the work flow, problem-solving, and managing multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision.Promotes quality patient care by handling specimens appropriately and entering patient data accurately.Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, and standards.
