Ready to be more than just a person on the ground?Grow with us! Joshua Tree Experts in Indianapolis is a premier team of tree care professionals, is searching for an experienced Tree Care Groundsman.The Groundsman works alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations. They are responsible for all communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.Groundsmen are essential to how our crews function day to day. This is a hands-on entry-to-early-career role for someone who wants to learn the trade, work hard, and grow within a professional tree care team. What a Tree Care Groundsman does:Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation dailyEnsure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and publicPerform pruning and reducingSafely use tree care operations equipment included but not limited to gas powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippersLoad and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debrisReports to work on time each dayFollow directions from crew leaders and climbersMaintain professional imageProvide friendly and excellent customer serviceMaintain and service equipment, as neededFollows safety culture and safety proceduresSet up safety and traffic control measures for job sitesWhat do you need to be a Tree Care Groundsman:Minimum of two years of experience in Tree Care OperationsValid driver's licenseAt least 21 years of ageAbility to work 40 hours or more each weekAbility to lift at least 25 poundsWillingness to work in adverse weather conditionsExcellent ability to communicate effectivelyFirst Aid and CPR Certified is a plusWhat Joshua Tree can provide for you:A culture focused on SAFETYCareer advancement opportunities!Company that values a great WORK/LIFE balanceFull time, YEAR ROUND employment with benefits (Medical, Dental, and Vision)Paid Vacation, Holidays, and Sick Days Join a BETTER team of tree care professionals at Joshua Tree in Indianapolis!
