Job Description

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist provides cardio-pulmonary evaluation, respiratory care, and life support to patients of all ages following established protocols or physician prescriptions. They work across various hospital departments to ensure optimal respiratory health and education for patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures, including airway management, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy.
• Conduct cardio-pulmonary assessments and evaluate patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with medical teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, assessments, and patient progress.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC RRT credential.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
• Demonstrate experience in labor and delivery/Neonatal Resuscitation.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program with an Associate's degree.
• Proficient in critical care techniques and able to work in high-pressure environments.
• Have supervised clinical experience documented within the past two years.
