The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring manufacturing machinery used to produce wire and cable products. This position involves inspecting products for quality, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring materials meet customer specifications. The operator must follow established safety and production standards while maintaining an organized work area and meeting production goals.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Operating and monitoring CNC manufacturing machinery to produce wire and cable products according to specifications.
• Inspecting materials and finished products for quality, quantity, appearance, dimensions, and other required specifications.
• Reading and following work orders, production instructions, pick lists, and other documentation.
• Identifying production issues, machine malfunctions, and quality concerns and reporting them to supervision.
• Making appropriate machine adjustments as trained and authorized to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Maintaining accurate, legible, and timely production records and documentation.
• Following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area by following daily housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and foreign object debris (FOD) standards.
• Handling materials and finished products safely and placing products in designated areas.
• Working with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and customer requirements.
• Following company policies, quality standards, and established operating procedures.
• Participating in required training, including safety and job-specific training.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Essential knowledge and skills include:

• Mechanical and technical skills: Ability to learn and operate manufacturing machinery, understand basic machine functions, and recognize when equipment is not operating properly.
• Attention to detail: Ability to follow specifications, inspect products carefully, identify defects, and maintain consistent quality.
• Analytical and reasoning ability: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, identify production issues, and respond appropriately to changing priorities.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and understand measurements and production quantities.
• Communication skills: Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Computer and documentation skills: Ability to complete production paperwork accurately and enter information into company systems as required.

Work environment includes:

• Works in a manufacturing environment focused on cleanliness, safety, and product quality.
• May work in varying temperatures and be exposed to manufacturing machinery and typical production noise.
• Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, and repetitive hand and body movements.
• May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials and products.
• Requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safe material-handling practices.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts based on business needs.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operation.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and adherence to safety procedures.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials as needed.
