Job Description

The Quality Engineer will support our Medical Device Client in Salt Lake City, driving quality performance across advanced medical device manufacturing and product development. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and leads efforts to improve product quality, process capability, and risk mitigation for life-saving neurovascular devices. This position operates as an independent contributor within Quality Operations and plays a critical role in cross-functional initiatives spanning manufacturing, R&D, and supplier quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
• Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
• Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs.
• Lead activities within the following areas:
  • Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Manufacturing Quality & Process Improvement
  • Product Testing & Validation
  • Risk Management & Root Cause Analysis
  • Supplier Quality
  • Cross-Functional Leadership

Top Skills:

• Manufacturing quality or quality engineering
• Root cause analysis and CAPA systems
• Statistical analysis / process control
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications

Qualifications:

• Medical device Industry experience 
• ISO 13485, FDA QSR, GMP
• Risk management (ISO 14971)
• Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• FAI / inspection planning
• Minitab or statistical tools

This is a Contract position based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
