Job Title Job Developer Department Career & Professional Development Center Location Corpus Christi, Texas Job Type Staff Purpose The Job Developer works with local community and on-campus employers to develop part‑time opportunities for the Job Location Development (JLD) program and Community Service Work Study (CSWS) program, supports job creation, internships, job placement, career skill trainings, and employer outreach. Responsibilities Functional Area 1: Program Management (40%) Assist with career portal (Handshake) database maintenance, including reviewing, approving and/or declining employer accounts and job postings. Locate and develop jobs that generate total student wages exceeding the total amount of federal funds spent under the JLD Program. Design strategies to attract new employers and campus hiring departments to support more job creation. Develop employer relationships with internal and external partners, promote on‑campus and part‑time jobs to students, and assist employers in building their brands on campus. Assist with overseeing the on‑campus internship program and the Community Service Work Study program. Serve as an expert consultant to external and internal employers on student behavior, needs, and desires. Functional Area 2: Promotion & Support (20%) Design awareness campaigns and marketing plans to promote part‑time jobs and internships to the campus community. Design campaigns to promote career skill training workshops and ensure high attendance across campus. Hold informational meetings and needs assessments with student groups; conduct presentations to employers and campus partners. Identify, develop, and nurture relationships with campus resource partners to support the hiring process and meaningful working experiences for students. Functional Area 3: Training & Assessment (20%) Administer an orientation and develop a career skill training program for on‑campus student employees and interns. Develop training workshops and resources for campus hiring departments and external employers. Oversee the career readiness assessment program. Functional Area 4: Administration & Report (15%) Conduct and promote student employment surveys to ensure the highest response rate possible. Assist with reports for the Job Location Development program. Functional Area 5: Others (5%) Serve on committees and assist with special projects as needed. Assist department staff with special events. Conduct other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Business, Counseling, or a closely related field. Three (3) years of experience in a Career Services field or closely related; internship experience is accepted. Masters degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience may substitute for the minimum experience requirement. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Relationship‑building, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving. Experience in developing and conducting professional development training workshops. University experience in a traditional university setting. Salary $43,888 per year, approximately $3,657.34 per month. NOTE: Employment may be impacted by the Presidential proclamation issued on September19,2025 and the moratorium issued by Texas Governor Abbott on January27,2026.
