Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The role involves patient assessments, administering treatments such as breathing treatments, chest tube care, sedation, rapid sequence intubation, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The nurse must be adaptable to floating between campuses and work weekends as required, ensuring critical interventions such as cardioversion, blood product administration, and rapid infuser use are performed competently.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice, including compact license recognition.
• Minimum of 1 year emergency nursing experience.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• Strong clinical skills in emergency procedures and patient care.
• Ability to float to various campuses and work weekends every other week.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with rapid sequence intubation and advanced airway management.
• Familiarity with CRRT and dialysis in the emergency setting.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred (first-time travelers not accepted).

Special Considerations:

• Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation to qualify for travel positions.
• Floating between different campuses is required.
• Weekend shifts are mandatory every other week.
• Non-holiday days off (DTO) include 5 days plus one additional week at contract end; DTO over 5 days require manager approval.

Scheduling:

• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks.
• Shift start times include 07:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, and 19:00.
• Five-day work weeks with designated days off and additional time off at contract completion.
