Software Engineer, EC2 Nitro

Salary: $143,400 - 143,400 per year Requirements:

• We require 3+ years of professional software development experience outside of internships.
• We require 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• We require experience programming in at least one software language.
• Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Preferred: A bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent background.
• Preferred: Strong ability in algorithm and data structure design and analysis.
• Preferred: Solid understanding of TCP/IP.
• Preferred: Experience with kernel or embedded development, especially the Linux kernel.
• Preferred: Scripting experience with Ruby, Python, or Rust.
• Preferred: Strong computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
• Preferred: Knowledge of at least one modern language such as C, C++, Rust, Python, or Perl.
• Preferred: Ability to take a project from requirements scoping through launch.
• Preferred: Alignment with our leadership principles and the functional/technical depth required for the role.

• We work as engineers on a small team and mentor junior engineers while helping ensure strong development practices.
• We stay hands-on with day-to-day engineering work, including architecture decisions, design participation, design reviews, code reviews, and implementation.
• We maintain current technical knowledge to support fast-changing technology and evaluate new tools and approaches.
• We communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements and explain product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
