OnSite Specialist - Durham, NC

Position Overview As an Endoscopy OnSite Specialist, you will support surgical teams by ensuring equipment and processes run smoothly to provide exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Prepare, manage, and maintain surgical equipment and disposable products to achieve full readiness before each procedure. Support OR teams during procedures by anticipating device needs, providing equipment adjustments, and ensuring a seamless surgical experience. Troubleshoot routine and complex equipment issues, using independent judgment to maintain high service reliability. Collaborate with surgeons, OR personnel, central processing, biomedical staff, and other clinical partners to deliver high‑quality service. Maintain accurate documentation of procedure information, equipment usage, monthly performance metrics, and account updates. Stay current through ongoing training and maintain strong working knowledge of Stryker equipment and new technologies; educate clinical staff on product use. Follow safety, facility, and privacy standards, including patient confidentiality requirements. Provide flexible coverage (rotating schedules, on‑call, overnight and weekend shifts); support other accounts within and outside your region and travel when required. Core Responsibilities Setup and verify Stryker towers, booms, lights, and integrated suite systems per surgeon preference. Confirm equipment functionality and image routing prior to each procedure. Adjust camera, monitor, and device settings intraoperatively and provide immediate troubleshooting of endoscopy and integration systems. Manage post‑procedure breakdown, staging of all equipment, and perform basic maintenance. Clean and disinfect towers and components, restock consumables, and perform basic maintenance. Educate OR and SPD staff on proper use and troubleshooting of Stryker products. Support video conferencing, DICOM transfers, and EMR connectivity where applicable. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 0+ years of related work experience in operating room environments or patient care settings. Ability to work rotating schedules, including on‑call, overnight, and weekend shifts, and to arrive within 45 minutes when on call. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently; to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and use fine motor skills for extended periods. Visual acuity (corrected), color vision, mobility, and dexterity to identify and correct small inconsistencies in equipment or documentation. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills; ability to make independent decisions in high‑pressure environments. Clear communication skills – verbal, written, and organizational; ability to explain and follow detailed guidelines and procedures. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Ability to travel and provide coverage at other accounts as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent certifications. 1+ year of experience in customer service, technical assistance, clinical support, sterile workflow operations, or operating room environments. Knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation. HSPA/CRCST certification (required within 6 months for Sterile Processing roles; renewed annually). Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $22.66 – $30.66 per hour. Comprehensive benefits package as part of our total rewards program.
