Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year A bit about us: We are currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled Permanent Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing our procurement activities. You will be responsible for purchasing the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts. Your work will directly impact our operations and profitability. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification.
2. Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
3. Analyze market and industry conditions and develop supply recommendations.
4. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best terms and pricing.
5. Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with terms of contracts.
6. Review and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
7. Coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
8. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
9. Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting key financial metrics.
10. Work closely with other departments to identify and prioritize purchasing needs. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
3. Demonstrated ability in managing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to negotiate and build strong relationships.
6. Strong understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
7. Proficient in relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management systems.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
