Job Description

The Construction Project Manager oversees multiple interior commercial construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. This role coordinates closely with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors, while actively managing schedules, budgets, documentation, and on-site activities. The position is ideal for a hands-on construction professional with strong field experience in interior commercial work who is ready to take ownership of multiple projects and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple interior construction projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $100,000 to $1 million and spanning approximately 5–12 active projects at a time.
• Oversee all phases of commercial interior construction and fit-out projects, from planning through closeout, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinate daily with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain alignment on project scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, budgets, and related documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify quality of work, and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
• Identify project risks, issues, and potential delays, and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Ensure all materials, equipment, and resources are procured and delivered on schedule to support uninterrupted field operations.
• Prepare, review, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), Change Orders, and Submittals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and construction documents to guide project execution and resolve technical questions.
• Lead and participate in project meetings, providing clear, regular updates to internal and external stakeholders on project status, budget, and schedule.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, providing a high level of customer service and responsiveness throughout each project.
• Collaborate with estimating and other internal teams, including following up on bids and supporting preconstruction efforts as needed.
• Organize and prioritize a high volume of concurrent tasks and communications, ensuring that critical project activities receive timely attention.
• Support continuous improvement of project management processes, documentation standards, and use of project management software.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raritan, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $52.88/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Raritan,NJ.
