Job Description

Perform basic maintenance routines and minor repairs on equipment with a basic technology level and/or low impact or non-critical level according to location requirements. Ensure smooth operations through preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting, with opportunities for skill development and growth in this entry-level role.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventive maintenance activities assigned by the supervisor according to the Preventive Maintenance Program for equipment with basic technology and low impact/critical level as required in each location.
• Provide feedback to the supervisor about issues or problems detected during preventive maintenance activities that need to be resolved to ensure optimal service levels.
• Identify and recommend activities to improve the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Keep detailed records of preventive maintenance activities performed on production equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments on production equipment and machinery under supervision.
• Maintain regular contact with the supervisor, making basic decisions to ensure activities meet required standards, and seek assistance when needed.
• Provide feedback to the supervisor about issues or problems detected during corrective maintenance activities that need to be resolved to ensure optimal service levels.
• Seek help from the supervisor or more experienced co-workers when the cause of a problem is unclear or reoccurs after recent diagnosis and repair.
• Document and report repairs made to production equipment.
• Perform basic work requested by the maintenance area, maintaining accurate records of completed work orders related to production equipment.
• Contact the relevant personnel to gather all necessary information about the work needed and collaborate to provide the required support to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prioritize tasks based on urgency and production schedule needs.
• Track materials, spare parts, chemicals, or other items required to perform requested work to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Assist in executing basic activities in special maintenance projects for production equipment under the supervision of higher-level technicians or supervisors.
• Collaborate on the installation, testing, and commissioning of new production equipment or machinery.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing production equipment and processes.

Work Environment

This role operates within a major warehouse, distribution, and logistics hub that spans 600,000 square feet. The facility manages the storage and distribution of items such as fiber optic cables, post-industrial recycled nylon cable ties, cable management systems, and electrical wiring components. The position requires working from 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract position based out of DeKalb, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in DeKalb,IL.
