Quality Assurance Technician

The Role We are looking for someone passionate about food and fanatic about high standards. As a CAVA Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for executing and enforcing daily quality‑based tasks that are instrumental to maintaining CAVA’s quality. Our Quality Assurance Technicians adhere to all plant GMP’s and lead others by example through following important FSQA behaviors. This position will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, offers limited overtime, and requires some scheduling flexibility. What You’ll Do Administers Equipment and Sensory based Quality Assurance checks (pH, temperature, titrations, inspections, taste/visual checks, verification checks, etc) Conducts ATP, Allergen and Environmental Swabbing Evaluates raw materials to ensure Quality Control standards for ingredients and packaging Observes and reviews production practices and behaviors to verify adherence to procedures Works closely with production staff to implement holds, corrective actions and document processes Assists management to develop and review SOP’s Manages sample submissions to outside lab and tracks results for anomalies Conducts quality‑based training with assistance from management Contributes insight and feedback to management team to improve upon current processes Executes additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Food Safety and Quality Manager Assists the production department in order to meet yield demands The Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry or other science preferred 1+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry Experience in Quality Assurance is a plus Possess exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite Must have excellent organization skills Must be self‑driven and able to work independently to deliver results in a timely manner Must have familiarity with Food Safety plans HACCP plan experience desired Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a cold environment, standing and walking up to 75% Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer Must be able to learn and operate basic production and sanitation equipment Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to roll 500 lb bowls of product Need to have good dexterity and possess abilities to make critical sensory observations Ability to work around chemicals such as chlorine and/or other sanitizers Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist occasionally Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner What We Offer Competitive salary, plus bonus and short‑term incentives* Accrued PTO, limited paid parental leave, plus paid opportunities to give back to the community Health, Dental, Vision, Telemedicine, Pet Insurance plus more! 401k enrollment with CAVA contribution Free CAVA food Casual work environment The opportunity to be on the ground floor of a rapidly growing brand *Indicates qualifying eligible positions only CAVA – Joining “A culture, not a concept” EEO Statement As an equal opportunity employer, CAVA considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, height, weight, marital status, sexual orientation, familial status, genetic information or any other characteristic or protected classes as defined by federal, state, or local law. #J-18808-Ljbffr CAVA - CAVA Foods, Verona
