We're looking to move quickly on a senior-level engineering opportunity

We're seeking an experienced, licensed Professional Engineer with the following qualifications:

• 20+ years of engineering experience, preferably in MEP design.

• Active PE license in Texas.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

• Demonstrated management and leadership experience, including overseeing technical teams and project delivery.

• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume, prototypical projects, particularly restaurants and retail.

• Ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain quality standards, and provide technical oversight in a deadline-driven environment.

  Compensation: What is the approved salary range for this position? Appox $120k

• Work Arrangement: Is this role fully on-site, hybrid, or remote? Hybrid (remote M and F. Mandatory in-office on Wednesdays).
  

Ideally, we're looking for someone who can step into a senior technical leadership role, take ownership of project delivery, and help guide and develop our MEP team

Studio Lead will provide strategic leadership, oversee project delivery, and cultivate client relationships while driving the creative and operational success of the studio. This position requires a balance of design leadership, project management, and team development expertise

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Qualified and able to train in all junior staff roles and responsibilities

• Leadership and Strategic Direction:

o Assist in the development and implementation of studio goals/metrics and strategies aligned with the firm's mission and growth objectives.

o Assistance with development of company standards.

o In responsible charge of implementation, tracking, maintaining and enforcing all company standards and Employee Handbook requirements.

o Serve as the face of the studio, representing its capabilities to clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.

o Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to drive new business development opportunities and expand opportunities with existing clients to ensure repeat business.

o Maintain studio health as identified by employee satisfaction/retention, achieving financial goals, client satisfaction, and accurate/timely projections, billing, and collections.

o Generate all necessary reports on project and program metrics and profitability to use for strategic discussions

o Ensure clients and consultants uphold contractual obligations.

o Required to keep a trained Second in Command on staff at all times that can seamlessly take over as Studio Lead with little to no notice.

• Client and Program Oversight:

o High level oversight of project delivery, program profitability, and satisfaction of clients for all assigned programs.

o Ensure all projects meet client expectations, budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements.

o Responsible for oversight of and adherence to all metrics, scorecards, quarterly rocks, for studio and each individual as tracked by Bloomgrowth and Ajera.

o Facilitate interim project reviews and provide direction to ensure adherence to client, jurisdictional, and ADA/TDLR standards.

o Resolve high-level project issues and provide support to project teams.

o In responsible charge of ensuring adherence to TDLR submission requirements.

• Team Development, Management, and Retention:

o Lead, mentor, train, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, drafters, project managers and consultants.

o Oversee staffing requirements and assignments to optimize project efficiency, firm utilization and team growth.

o Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and creative studio culture that adheres to and reflects Core Values, Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.

o Develop and implement HR and organizational strategies to foster a positive and supportive work environment to aid in successful employee retention (in collaboration with HR).

o Development and oversight of training strategies for all studio and firm employees, as well as companywide quality control processes and procedures.

o Development, implementation, and oversight of Revit and CAD Standards, and details library.

o Develop and manage studio leads.

• Operational and Financial Management:

o Monitoring of and responsibility for studio performance metrics, including project budgets, timelines, profitability and staff utilization.

o In responsible charge of accurate projections, billing, and collections.

-Provide timely strategies for adjusting staffing or work when projections fall below $10,000 of revenue requirements.

o Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts for the studio.

o Ensure compliance with firm-wide policies, processes, and quality assurance standards.

o Responsible workforce planning as it pertains to workload and budgetary constraints.

o Responsible for maintaining studio health and financial success of studios.

o Once a project or program has been greenlit by COO or CEO, the Lead must make every reasonable effort to work the new opportunity into the Studios workflow in a timely manner. (Say Yes First!)

o Although not always possible, it is the intent for the Lead to provide pricing or a proposal to prospective clients within 2 business days. This is our first chance to make a good impression. Make an aggressive but reasonable commitment and keep it. (Say it, Do it!)

o Required to adjust studio staff or work as necessary in response to revenue goals/metrics.

• Example: Downsize studio if financials are not being met or increase staff if all metrics are being met and new opportunities are won.

o Unless otherwise approved by COO, Studios are required to give MEP and Entitlements first pass on all projects. Exceptions are given when an outside consultant is expressly required in writing by a client.

o Responsible for financial success of studios.

• Skills and Abilities:

o Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentorship and collaboration.

o Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

o Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.

o Proficiency in industry-standard software, including but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

o Knowledge and implementation of current trends, materials, and best practices.

o Ability to balance client requirements and expectations with practical execution and budgetary considerations.

Work Environment

• Primarily hybrid with occasional site visits.

• Standard office conditions with typical noise levels.

• May involve occasional exposure to construction site environments.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.

• May involve occasional local and out of state travel to perform surveys in various conditions.

Travel

• Travel may be required as needed.

Education and Experience

• Accredited degree in Architecture or related field (Preferred)

• Typically, 10-12 years of successful experience managing multiple, multi-discipline projects.

• Proficiency in relevant architectural software.

• Proficiency with Energy Compliance Checks

• Experience in architectural building systems and construction documentation.

• Certifications in relevant architectural software and methodologies are a plus.
