Shop Foreman – Emergency Vehicle Upfitting

Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Shop Foreman who leads from the build bay. This is a working foreman role: you will build vehicles alongside the team while overseeing our technicians, upfitters, and porters’ day to day. You will keep builds on schedule, on specification, and built to the standard our Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, Municipal, and Fleet partners count on.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Builds: Complete full upfits, including installing lighting, sirens, consoles, partitions, and specialty equipment, and mounting toolboxes, racks, and accessories.
• Production Leadership: Direct daily shop operations and assign work to technicians, upfitters, and porters to keep vehicles moving through production efficiently.
• Scheduling & Workflow: Plan and prioritize builds to meet our industry-leading lead times; identify bottlenecks and fix them before they cause delays.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed upfits for wiring, mounting, and installation quality before vehicles are released, making sure every build meets our lifetime craftsmanship standard.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to resource for troubleshooting 12V electrical systems and complex installations.
• Training & Development: Mentor and train technicians and porters, supporting our promote-from-within path from Porter to Technician and beyond.
• Safety & Shop Standards: Enforce safety procedures and keep the shop clean, organized, and customer ready.
• Parts & Inventory Coordination: Work with management to make sure parts and equipment are staged and ready ahead of each build.
• Communication: Report production status, issues, and staffing needs to management.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of hands-on vehicle experience — emergency vehicle upfitting, automotive electrical, or 12V installation

• Previous experience in a lead, supervisor, or foreman role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive wiring and electrical systems, with the ability to read schematics and installation guides.
• Experience with emergency-vehicle equipment (lighting, sirens, consoles, partitions) strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to build vehicles while managing multiple jobs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work on your feet for long periods of time in a shop environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Compensation: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour, plus performance bonus, and a full benefits package. Estimated total first-year compensation of $125,000+.

Work Location: In person, on site.
