Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery travel assignment in Bakersfield, CA. Start date: 06/22/2026 for a 13-week engagement. You will work 36 hours per week on a Nights schedule of 12-hour shifts (3x12). Weekly pay ranges from 2,679 to 2,791 USD. Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for labor and delivery patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess maternal and fetal status, monitor progress, respond to changes, and administer medications and therapies as ordered.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans; coordinate with physicians, midwives, and other disciplines to optimize outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff across levels; delegate tasks appropriately and maintain a safe, supportive care environment.
- Participate in patient handoffs, documentation, and quality improvement activities; ensure accurate records and adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Support discharge planning and patient education to promote continued wellness after the stay.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in the state of California
- Labor and delivery nursing experience
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift schedule and commit to a 13-week travel assignment
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting
