Job Description
Travel Medsurg/Telemetry RN is needed for 13 weeks to start in a facility in Tennessee. TN or compact license is required. 2 years of experience is required. ACLS, and BLS are required. 6 -12 hour shifts, 6:45-7:15, (72 hours biweekly) Weekend/Call requirements: Every other weekend Specialty Area: Acute Care, Med Surg, Tele, Step Down Experience requirements: Minimum of 2 years (preference given to candidates with 5+) similar experience in similar Acute Care Hospital Settings. Such as: • Level 1 Trauma Centers • Establish Academic Medical Centers • 350+ beds • Multiple Medical and Surgical Service Lines Skill/competency requirements: Candidates should possess robust experience and validated competencies in caring for highly acute patient populations. Desired Skill set/experience expectations to include, but not limited to the following: *Please note the following list should be considered a reference regarding skill set and competency, with understanding that certain skills, equipment, and procedures are specialty specific. • well-developed and comprehensive assessment skills • proficient in multiple patient management • monitor hempdynamic status, capable of recognizing and reporting trends/findings as appropriate for real time management and facilitation of acquiring emergency assistance. • participate in discharge planning • multidisciplinary care collaboration, utilizing well developed communication skills across the organization • obtain consultations as needed and ordered • proficient IV and Phlebotomy skills • Management of prognosis altering medications and treatments, to include titration as ordered, to include, but not limited to medications such as: Heparin, Nitroflycerin and opioids • post-operative/procedure patient management • telemetry proficency • solid pharmacological knowledge/experience • tracheostomy management • patent airway management • Chronic ventilator management in our step down area only • PPE management - experience with donning and doffing appropriately to avoid contamination from patients with contagious illness, such as COVID-19 preferable. Nurse to patient ratios: Goal is 6:1, ratios are based on patient populations and acuity (some specialty and high acuity units maintain lower ratios) Charting System: Cerner First time travelers: Yes, but must possess an minimum of 2 years experience as outlined above.
