Nurse Staff Development Coordinator

Acacia Health Center in beautiful Northeast Phoenix/Scottsdale is hiring a Nurse Educator/Staff Development Coordinator to join our team. We're part of the prestigious Sagewood Senior Living Community , a CMS 5-Star Rated Facility . The Nurse Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of on-going educational programs at Acacia Health Center.

Position Details:

• Starting Pay Range: $95,000+
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
• Location: Acacia Health Center at Sagewood

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, coordinate staff training, education, in service, and orientation.
2. Train and educate the nursing staff.
3. Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
4. Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
5. Plan the annual and monthly training program calendar in collaboration with Director of Nursing.
6. Work along with the Director of Nursing and Infection Preventionist to identify areas for educational opportunities. Develops in-services based on the community's educational needs.
7. Maintains appropriate training records and program materials as required by federal and state regulations.
8. Conduct department specific orientation to Health Center nursing staff including completion of the clinical skills checklist.
9. Monitors outcome of employee training sessions regarding skills taught and session evaluations.
10. Serves on the QAPI & Risk Committees, submits reports and other committees as assigned.
11. Coordinates the activities of students engaged in learning programs within the facility from various learning institutions.
12. Following and investigating incidents, generating reports and reporting them to the Director of Nursing.
13. Participates in Nursing Administration on-call rotation.

What We’re Looking For:

1. EDUCATION : Current Arizona RN license required.
2. EXPERIENCE: Two years of training and development experience required, two years in long-term care required, wound certification preferred, infection prevention and control certification preferred.
3. LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
4. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Basic mathematical skills required.
5. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to understand, follow and support established policies and procedures of the facility; ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately; ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments efficiently; ability to work effectively with minimum supervision; ability to adapt teaching to the situation and diversity of learners.
6. OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Current CPR certification. Computer literacy needed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Leadership and teaching skills required. Understanding and empathy of the uniqueness of the needs of the elderly required.
