Storm Duty Requirements Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. X 5 Days Position Concept A Systems Analyst develops applications; implements software packages, integrates applications, and provides 24x7 application support. Collaborates on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases. Utilizes appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with the IT architecture. Level 1 – Associate Systems Analyst The Associate Systems Analyst develops software of limited complexity. Provides primary support for one or more applications. Participates on Application Development and Support teams. Works under direct supervision. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops software of limited complexity based on specifications provided. Implements software packages for which limited configuration and integration is required with minimal vendor contact. Integrates applications where the complexity of interfaces is limited and based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary support for one or more applications typically classified as ‘niche’ or ‘core’, but not ‘mission-critical’. May provide secondary support for mission-critical applications. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables under the guidance of more senior staff. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers. Acquires and maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments. Acquires and maintains appropriate technical skills. Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, additional years related experience may be considered. Related Experience: Minimum one year of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum high school diploma and 4+ additional years related experience may be considered. Participates on Application Development and Support team. May serve as Technical Lead on small projects. Works under moderate supervision and may oversee contract resources and/or junior staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops software of moderate complexity based on specifications provided. Implements software packages for which moderate configuration and integration is required; interaction with vendor resources remotely or onsite may be required. Integrates applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. Implements software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; reviews deliverables produced by junior staff. Leads selection and implementation of software packages and drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Serves as subject matter expert in technical discipline. Works under minimal supervision and mentors and directs junior staff. May serve as backup to Manager in a limited capacity. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Leads complex software development projects. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. Leads selection and implementation of software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Leads the integration of applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical. Coordinates maintenance activities which may include release schedules for one or more functional areas. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager or project managers. Functions as Technical Lead on projects and oversees technical staff; may lead multiple concurrent projects. Subject matter expert in multiple business areas, including those relevant to projects and application support assignments. Considered a subject matter expert in their technical discipline; mentors and directs junior staff, provides feedback to manager on junior staff performance review. Develops and drives standard practices within their team. Supervision Indirect Supervision: No direct supervision, but serves in a leadership role overseeing junior staff and contract resources. In this leadership role, oversees projects and/or functional segments within the team, and manages day-to-day responsibilities. May serve as a backup to their manager in a limited capacity. Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. Experience above minimum may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. Licenses/Certifications: Two or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines. Related Experience: Ten years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. Preferred: Twelve years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Expert knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies.
