Accounting Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Coordinator to support our accounting team in a fast-paced work environment. This position plays an important role in supporting accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, cash application, account reconciliation, and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable working with financial information, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

Position Details

• Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas
• Position Type: Full-Time
• Pay Rate: $20.00 to $22 an hour
• Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday thru Friday)
• Work Arrangement: Onsite

What You'll Do

• Enter and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
• Post and apply customer payments and cash receipts.
• Manage customer portals and online billing systems.
• Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies.
• Support billing activities and customer account maintenance.
• Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
• Communicate with internal team members regarding invoices, payments, billing, and account-related questions.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.

What We're Looking For

• At least one year of experience in an office, accounting, billing, or similar work environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependability and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Work Environment

• Environment: This role operates in a professional, climate-controlled office environment. The noise level is generally low to moderate.

Physical Requirements:

• Stationary Work: Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting) for 50% or more of the time while using a computer.
• Manual Dexterity: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
• Movement: Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, or reach to access files or office equipment.
• Lifting: Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–20 lbs (e.g., files, paper boxes, or office supplies).
