Distribution Center Shipping Clerk

**Reports To: **Warehouse Manager or Designee

**Location: **Three Oaks, MI

Job Summary: The DC Shipping Clerk, is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.

**Primary Responsibilities: **Pack, prepare and ship inventory to customers or storefronts. Read incoming orders, quickly and efficiently selecting items form warehouse shelves and adequately packaging those products for shipment. Will have an in-depth understanding of the warehouse layout and confirm stock inventory is accurate throughout entire shift. Perform basic quality assurance by inspecting goods and their containers for possible damage before packing them to be shipped. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Experience:

• Minimum of one-year experience in a warehouse or distribution center
• Knowledge of distribution processes (shipping, receiving, and inventory control)
• Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) scanners
• Ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) systems. Knowledge of Epicor 10 a plus
• Familiar with warehouse safety regulations

Skills/Requirements:

• Ability to lead, problem solve, meet team goals
• Ability to be certified on forklift, reach truck, and walkie pallet jack
• Well organized and detail oriented
• Able to read and comprehend product descriptions, labels, and other product documents
• Ability to understand and perform basic math to ensure accurate product quantities
• Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift
• Abides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned

**Education: **

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Forklift Licensed
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
