Registered Nurse

This role requires a nurse to work in a mixed bed neurosurgery and general surgery unit. The nurse will provide care to patients with a variety of medical needs, including those requiring stepdown components. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 5:1, dependent on staffing levels. The nurse will work 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. Holiday rotation and weekend shifts are mandatory, with an expectation of 3-4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule. Floating within the scope of practice may be required to meet unit needs. Experience with neuro patients is preferred. The nurse will be expected to manage tasks related to care for patients with cerebrovascular accidents. Additional preferred skills include the use of rapid response and code teams. Compliance with infection control and isolation precautions is essential. Travelers should be aware of potential assignments to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November. The facility accommodates interdisciplinary support from various specialized teams. Lab requirements are to be met within specified timelines upon acceptance into the role. Candidates must have proof of the application for South Carolina RN License if not already obtained. RTO guidelines will apply to the hiring process.
