The Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers critical and non-critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and noninvasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system, provides respiratory care predominantly in critical care areas, and is in charge for the shift i.e., making out assignments, handling staffing issues, and responding to personnel issues. Location Cincinnati, OH, United States Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum Required: Associate's Degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Graduate of a two-to-four-year AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of graduation or date of hire Current State of Ohio License Current BLS (with ACLS, PALS, or NALS for respective work area) 1 year of equivalent experience Demonstrated knowledge of cardiopulmonary disease states and critical thinking skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Demonstrated leadership ability in department and clinical settings Expected starting salary range for this position is between $27.33/hr. - $33.78/hr. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect. Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assess patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions. Performs invasive and non-invasive therapeutic/diagnostic modalities. Procedure/services performed are according to department policy and procedure. Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records. Hand-off of care performed using SBAR Model. Educates patients on their disease state, wellness, home care modalities and safety. Functions as a preceptor (works to provide a meaningful learning experience for orientees/students). Applies technical knowledge to consult with physician with regard to cardiopulmonary status. Acts as a resource. Supportive of leadership initiatives.
