About the Position

Responsibilities include constant communication with nursing, providers, utilization review, and case management teams. The nurse will assist in determining patient needs and potential discharge dates. Patient populations include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses. Skills required include telemetry experience, managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. The unit has an average daily census of 28 patients and a bed capacity of 34. There will be weekend coverage required every third weekend. The nurse will be responsible for patient care in a telemetry setting with a typical patient ratio of 1:5. The role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Candidates must have experience in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing arterial blood gases. Additional skills include high flow nasal cannula management and wound care. The nurse will engage in emergency response protocols when needed. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care. The travel nurse will need to complete all onboarding compliance requirements upon hire. Reliability and adaptability in a dynamic environment are essential for success in this role.
