SCADA Engineer

Exempt position-Initial salary based on experience Responsibilities Assists in the development and preparation of SCADA system components, programming, and operator screen development. Assists in the preparation of substation remote terminal unit programming, development, and commissioning. Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians during system installation, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Assists in the selection and procurement of protective relay, SCADA, and distribution automation equipment. Assists in project management tasks and document control. Flexibility in learning other areas of Protection and Control including, but not limited to, relays, system sectionalizing, and distribution automation. Ability to function well as a contributor in a team and independent environments. All other tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent. Knowledge of SCADA system applications (Survalent background is preferred). Strong verbal and written communications skills that involve interacting with engineers, outside contractors, and field crews. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of electric utility experience. Knowledge of DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, and ICCP protocols. Knowledge of SEL-RTAC and Novatech Orion equipment and configuration. Knowledge of power systems' general properties and fundamentals.
