Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience and proven coaching and mentoring ability.
• We need experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.
• We require experience driving the responsible use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining working practices, review and validation expectations, measuring outcomes, and safeguarding data.
• We need understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency and security considerations, and governance expectations, with the ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage.
• We require proficiency across all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• We need advanced knowledge of agile methods such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We require in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• We need practical experience in cloud-native environments.
• Preferred: experience building data-driven products such as analytics platforms, insight tools, dashboards, and experimentation solutions.
• Preferred: familiarity with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and event-driven or API-based architectures.
• Preferred: experience modernizing legacy systems and managing technical debt effectively.
• Preferred: a background partnering closely with Product and Design teams to deliver user-facing experiences.
• Preferred: demonstrated ability to establish UX standards and promote customer-centric design practices across engineering teams, ensuring solutions are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with business outcomes.

• We provide day-to-day direction and support to our immediate software engineering team.
• We set clear expectations for team output, working practices, and collaboration.
• We lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational results, while reinforcing human validation, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and consistent use of reusable patterns.
• We apply our knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle toolchains, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value and support capacity unlock initiatives.
• We anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications aligned with business needs.
• We manage stakeholder relationships and oversee team delivery in line with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
• We identify and escalate issues while ensuring our teams work follows compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
