Equipment Mechanic / Setup Technician

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Overtime Opportunities

GreatLakes Equipment is a locally owned and operated equipment dealership serving homeowners, landscapers, farmers, and contractors throughout the area. We’re a small, growing team that moves a high volume of equipment, and we’re looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined person to join us as an Equipment Mechanic / Setup Technician .

This is a hands-on position with plenty of variety.

Responsibilities include:

• Set up and assemble new tractors, zero-turn mowers, compact construction equipment, and attachments
• Perform basic maintenance, service, and mechanical repairs
• Install accessories and attachments
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Perform pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is ready for the customer
• Load, unload, and move equipment around the dealership
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and work area
• Assist with general dealership and property maintenance as needed
• Help other team members when needed — we're a small team, and everyone pitches in

What We're Looking For:

You do not need to be a master mechanic, but you need to be mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and comfortable working with your hands.

The ideal candidate is:

• Mechanically inclined with a good understanding of tools and equipment
• Dependable and able to show up ready to work
• Organized and clean in their work
• Able to follow instructions and complete jobs correctly
• A self-starter who can work independently
• Willing to learn new equipment and systems
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• A team player with a "whatever needs to get done" attitude
• Focused on quality — equipment leaving our shop represents our dealership

Experience with tractors, zero-turn mowers, diesel engines, small engines, hydraulics, compact construction equipment, forklifts, or agricultural equipment is a plus.

A valid driver's license is required.

Forklift certification is a plus.
