Job Title: Ultrasound / Sono Tech


Hourly Pay Rate: $61.10


Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound / Sono Tech to join our team. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic medical sonography, specializing in abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, or vascular ultrasound procedures. You will operate ultrasound equipment, explain procedures to patients, and ensure diagnostic quality images are obtained to support accurate diagnoses.


Key Responsibilities:

• Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy of procedures.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address any concerns.
• Independently operate ultrasound equipment to perform imaging according to protocol.
• Review images for quality and ensure they meet diagnostic standards before transmission.
• Assist radiologists in guided procedures as required.
• Perform quality control procedures and notify relevant personnel of issues.
• Maintain departmental operations, including inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
• Adapt communication and care techniques to diverse patient populations with respect for privacy and comfort.
• Comply with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards relevant to diagnostic imaging.
• Keep up-to-date with current laws, standards, and best practices in medical imaging.

Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
• Experience: minimum of 2 years in sonography, with Maternal Fetal Medicine experience preferred.
• Certifications:
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
  • Advanced certification in specialty area(s) as needed
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Additional preferred: MFM certification, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within two years of hire
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Proficiency with computers and imaging software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to abdominal and vascular imaging
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Medium work with exertion of 20-50 pounds of force, frequent movement, and patient interaction.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and potentially communicable diseases.
• Work environment involves patient care areas requiring adherence to safety and infection control procedures.
