JMT's Virginia Construction Management Team is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Compensation for this position is $30.00 - $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes. Makes field notes and computations Gathers and maintains record documents Nonessential Functions And Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Strong Computer proficiency Active driver's license Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience) 1-4 years of Roadway Construction Inspection Experience Preferred Experience Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Client Requested certifications (VDOT: Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt I & II, Pavement Marking, GRIT; DEQ: E&S and SWM Inspector; Intermediate Workzone; Nuclear Safety; ACI-Concrete Field Tech) Working Conditions Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
