About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for the Cooperative Extension Service. The successful candidate will serve as the chief operating officer, providing transformative leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality and effective extension programs that meet the needs of the community. This role involves long-range program planning, implementation, and reporting, as well as working with the Vice President, Dean, and Director to manage the administrative, personnel, and fiscal affairs of the extension service. The Associate Vice President will also be responsible for increasing revenue from various sources, engaging with local and state leaders, and fostering partnerships with a range of organizations to support the mission of the extension service. Applicants for the Associate Vice President position should have a terminal degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for those with experience in the Cooperative Extension System. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of non-formal education, program development, and the ability to provide visionary leadership in the development of innovative programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in administrative leadership, effective communication, and management of personnel and budgets. A strong grasp of the issues facing the community, particularly in the areas of agriculture, families, youth, and community development, is essential. The role also involves active engagement with regional and national organizations and federal and state agencies to position the extension service for funding opportunities.
