Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. For current/previous employee eligibility, cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong neuro experience required. Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes required.

Unit Details: Neuro Med-Surg unit caring for neurosciences, deep brain stimulator patients, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spine, and other neurological disorders. Unit may see amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, Nipride, ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and insulin drips; titration is generally only in step-down settings by physician order. Unit has telemetry; RNs do not read strips and document verification of monitor tech strip readings in Epic. Unit may have floor vents on set settings; RT manages vents 24/7, and patients needing changes return to ICU.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends and holidays as scheduled; travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation. Weekend night positions work Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday; weekday nights require every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule. Three shifts in a row may be allowed but are not guaranteed; travelers need to be flexible.

Floating Requirements: May float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E first priority, then to the rest of the hospital if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
