General Function The Personal Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role processes teller transactions, serves as a member of the platform staff, and supports customers in understanding and addressing their financial needs. The banker uses consultative sales and service processes to deliver solutions across the customer lifecycle, while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, policy compliance, and ethical conduct. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach, in person, over the phone, or other appropriate channels. Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain a working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and all problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and other financial information to ensure customers are in appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling ethical behavior expected of every employee. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required High School Diploma/GED with 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience. Demonstrated ability to build comfort in both acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships. Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Business acumen and sound decision‑making ability. Requirement to register for the SAFE Act through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment. Working Conditions Normal office environment.
