Research Assistant

Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. It is the premiere health care organization for key areas such as Surgery, Cardiology, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal and Mental Health Services.

Work Shifts

9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M Monday to Friday 37.5 Hours

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Performs research activities by collecting information and data of current and historical nature for use in the preparation of booklets, pamphlets, articles, reports and speeches.
2. Obtains pertinent source material by means of library research, examination of records, books or other publications and personal interviews.
3. Prepares written reports.
4. Maintains clipping file and card index of factual and statistical information for departmental use.
5. Handles telephone and correspondence requests for information requiring research.
6. May also be in charge of a small departmental library.
7. Performs administrative duties requires to assure efficient library service.
8. In the Department of Rent and Housing Maintenance conducts rental value studies of moderate complexity, and assists in research studies and surveys.
