Job Announcement Department: Technical ServicesPay Grade: VReports to: Head of Technical ServicesHours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday-FridaySalary: $17.01 per hourBenefits: Health Insurance, sick days, vacation, holidays, IMRF Summary: We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our Technical Services department as a processing specialist. This individual will work closely with our acquisitions and cataloging personnel to process our print and non-print materials. Duties include verifying item accuracy, placing stickers and other identifying materials on items, receiving and processing newspapers and magazines, updating department processing manual online, and other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities Process print and non-print materials. Receive and process newspapers and magazines Check items against ILS to verify accuracy of collection codes and call numbers. Check in items and print any holds/requests slips. Collect and distribute mail. Maintain an online file of processing procedures. Qualifications High school diploma. Comfortable using technology (i.e. digital camera, copier) and computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel) Ability to work with efficiency, skill, accuracy and appropriate speed. Physical Requirements Dexterity to perform data entry on a computer, laptop, or other electronic device. Ability to bend, lift, and push a 200 lb. book cart.
