Role Description The Certified Pharmacy Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Meijer Pharmacy in Taylor, MI. In this role, the technician supports licensed pharmacists in processing prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, and ensuring accurate entry of patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system. Daily responsibilities include assisting customers at the pharmacy counter, answering basic medication-related questions within scope, and directing more complex inquiries to the pharmacist. The technician helps maintain inventory, restocks shelves, manages returns, and supports ordering to ensure medication availability. The role also involves handling insurance claims, processing payments, following state and federal regulations, and upholding company policies for patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care. Qualifications Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) and eligibility to meet all state licensing or registration requirements in Michigan. Experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting, with familiarity in prescription processing, medication handling, and customer service. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow established procedures, and commitment to maintaining accuracy and patient safety. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with patients, pharmacists, and team members in a professional manner. Basic math and computer skills, including comfort using pharmacy software systems and point-of-sale technology. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move pharmacy stock as needed, and work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in pharmacy or healthcare is beneficial.
