Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a collaborative oncology care team. The Advanced Practice Provider works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while improving continuity of care for oncology patients and their families across the care continuum.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for oncology patients.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as clinically appropriate.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and supportive care.
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable state laws, clinical protocols, and collaborative practice agreements.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
Document patient encounters accurately and maintain complete medical records.
Coordinate patient care across outpatient and other healthcare settings to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in patient education, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical best practices.
Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Qualifications
Education:

For Nurse Practitioner:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree preferred).

For Physician Assistant:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current New York State Physician Assistant license.

Licensure/Certification:

Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Authorization to prescribe medications in accordance with New York State Education Law and applicable state and federal regulations.

Experience:

Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
One to two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider or in an oncology Advanced Practice Provider role preferred.

Skills:

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of oncology care principles and treatment protocols.
Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
