Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Employee Benefits and Wellness, the Benefits Coordinator completes assigned benefits-related tasks and processes. This position is responsible for processing tuition benefit applications, workers' compensation reporting, new enrollments and benefit changes, and benefits invoices. The Benefits Coordinator also responds to benefits-related inquiries, maintains records, generates reports and provides support for department's initiatives. Main Responsibilities:

- Process tuition benefit applications, follow up with the employees and maintain related records.
- Enter, change and terminate benefits deductions in the HRIS system (Banner). Enter and update employee records in the benefits platform (Employee Navigator).
- Report work-related injuries to the workers' compensation claim administrator, complete required forms and process lost-time reimbursements.
- Determine eligibility for employer contributions to the retirement plan, notify employees and track enrollment.
- Prepare pay and benefits exit letters for separating employees. Calculate unused vacation payouts.
- Reconcile and pay benefits-related invoices.
- Maintain and update the record of retirees covered by the University benefit plans.
- Respond to employee and retiree inquiries regarding benefits.
- Assist with employee leave administration process.
- Respond to requests for information regarding unemployment claims.
- Provide operational support for the annual Open Enrollment for benefits.
- Assist with preparation of benefits-related mailings and email communications.
- Assist with department projects and initiatives as needed.
- Serve as a backup for the HR Assistant.
- One year experience in an administrative support role, benefits administration, human resources, payroll, insurance or a related position
- Proficiency with Excel and/or Google sheets
- Demonstrated ability to learn and use multiple software systems on a daily basis
- Experience coordinating multiple processes within established timelines
- Analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Process improvement mindset
- Associate's Degree
- Experience supporting the benefits function in a human resources department
- Experience working with an HRIS system such as Banner, a reporting tool (Argos), and/or an employee benefits platform (Employee Navigator)
- Familiarity with laws and regulations pertaining to benefits and human resources functions, including HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, FMLA, PFL.
