About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, Chemo Certification Must-Have: Chemotherapy certification required. Description: Position in oncology nursing. Shift involves working every other weekend. This unit has an average daily census of 24 patients. 24 rooms are available. First-time travelers are accepted. The clinician will float as needed within the facility. Candidates must be able to accommodate a block schedule as discussed with management. No distance requirement for local candidates. Applicants should be in the application process for a state license. Candidates should ideally not request more than 5 days of time off. If cancellations exceed 36 hours during a 13-week assignment, clients may incur charges. Required skills include administration of chemotherapy and management of cytotoxic spills. Additional infusion skills are essential, including the ability to access and care for central lines and administer blood products. Candidates should be familiar with monitoring chemotherapy patients and recognizing abnormal lab values. The facility operates as an acute care hospital and meets Magnet designation. The patient population primarily consists of adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes various services, contributing to comprehensive patient care.
