Job Number: 179340, Job Title: Supplemental Gastroenterology Technician II- LBJ Hospital, Salary: $23.77 - $30.31 Job Summary The Gastroenterology Technician II (GT II) proficiently performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT II demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year work experience in gastroenterology and/or another endoscopy certificate program (e.g., Surg Tech Program) and Endoscopy Technician Program (OR) Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Program or SGNA Advanced Associates Program. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program. Above Average Verbal communication skills (heavy public contact).
