Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Marshall, Michigan

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (12:00 PM - 1:30 AM); every other weekend and available for holiday coverage.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients in the Emergency Department. This role encompasses all phases of the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will direct and supervise the patient care team, which typically includes Certified Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses. Collaboration with team members and other healthcare disciplines is essential in the provision of care. Documentation of patient care, conditions, reactions, and responses to treatment must be completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize critical thinking and independent judgment in patient assessment and treatment.
• Supervise and support the nursing patient care team.
• Document patient care and track progress efficiently.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
• Experience with Cerner EMR.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• TNCC certification is preferred.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).
