Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have post-procedural cardiac experience, including cath lab, ablations, and open heart. - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and document it appropriately.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - PCU and stepdown experience preferred.

Special Requests: - Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility was a teaching facility. - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Previous St. Luke’s Health System employees may be considered only with an approved exception. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. - Block scheduling is not guaranteed (max of 5 shifts in a row).

Unit Details: - Uses Epic. - 3rd floor has a cardiac focus with post-op procedural patients, post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post-cath patients, pacemakers, and med-tele patients. - 7th floor is general telemetry with post-procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke patients. - Heparin and insulin drips; insulin is rare, and the facility is willing to train if needed. - Set-rate cardiac drips include amio, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine. - RT manages high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist if needed. - Remote tele techs are located on 3rd floor; nurses read and interpret telemetry twice per shift.

Shift & Scheduling: - 5-6 weekend shifts in each 6 week schedule for days (Sat/Sun). - May be asked to work holidays, but not every holiday. - Call or standby not typically required. - Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling.

Floating Requirements: - Tele 3 and 7 pool staffing together to cover staffing needs; travelers are expected to float between 3rd and 7th floors as needed. - Travelers are first to float and can be floated to other MS, MS-Tele, or Tele units within the hospital and to sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa.
