Depending on your specialty, you may qualify for an accession bonus, distributed over four years of service, along with potential special pay as a physician.
For those in the Army Reserve, a monthly stipend through the Specialized Training Assistance Program (STRAP) for physicians enrolled in an accredited residency program.

Candidates must be eligible for board certification.
Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship is required.
A completed training program in general surgery is mandatory.
U.S. citizenship is required for those serving on Active Duty.
Permanent U.S. residency is required for Army Reserve candidates.
