This position performs various cleaning duties to maintain assigned campus areas in an excellent and habitable condition, following all established departmental practices and procedures.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform a wide range of housekeeping tasks in assigned areas, which can vary daily based on college priorities during both the academic and non-academic yearClean and maintain floors (dust mopping, wet mopping, spot mopping, vacuuming)Clean and sanitize restrooms, washrooms, and showers, including all fixturesClean interior surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, glass partitions, window ledges, and doorsDust furniture, including desks, tables, chairs, and other items as neededEmpty trash and recycling containers, removing all debris to designated receptaclesWork collaboratively with team members to ensure all priority areas are maintained to the high standards of Environmental Services, especially during staff shortagesStrong safety mindset and attention to detailCustomer service orientation with students, faculty, staff, and visitorsIdentify and report any defective equipment, necessary building repairs, or safety hazards to ensure a safe environment for the communityEffective communication and teamwork in a diverse campus communityEducation and Experience:Required: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Previous experience as a housekeeper or cleaner in an institutional or commercial settingSkills and Competencies:Ability to follow oral and written instructions to complete tasks thoroughly and efficientlyDemonstrated ability to work reliably and with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of performanceStrong interpersonal and communication skillsGood time management and prioritization skillsKnowledge of how to use and maintain basic cleaning tools and equipmentPhysical Requirements:Requires good health, physical strength, and agility to perform all essential cleaning tasksMust be able to lift up to 30 lbs individually and 50 lbs assistedFrequent bending, squatting, twisting, or stooping during the workdayWear assigned PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator as required)Work Environment:Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather or heat depending on the building assignment Mix of academic, residential, dining, athletic, library, studio/lab (non-hazardous), office, warehouse, and outdoor areasSeasonal demands (snow/ice response, summer deep cleans, move-in/move-out, major events)Coordinate with Environmental Health & Safety for any hazardous materials; work only within training/authorizationCompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $17.50/hour.Weekly Hours: 27.5Annual Work Schedule: (For Seasonal and Temporary Positions, this will be determined by the manager)Application InstructionsFor all administrative and academic positions, please upload a current resume and cover letter.
