Job Title

Performs technical duties associated with dissection and preparation of tissues for histological processing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs tissue description, dissection, and blocking
• Reviews specimens for completeness and accuracy including site and patient identification Operates a tissue processing analyzer including maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:

• AAS degree in a related science as approved by an accrediting agency
• NYS Histotech License or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience

Typical Physical Demands:

• Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, sitting or standing for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.

Typical Working Conditions: Exposure to toxic substances, communicable diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a medical laboratory

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $22.45 to $43.89.
