Details Operating Room unit assignment Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Rotational weekend call required, with weekday call possible on a rotational basis Epic charting system used Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required AHA BLS certification required ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties preferred, including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotics-assisted procedures Familiarity with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems preferred Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol time-out procedures required Drug test must be completed within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to repeat testing if needed Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines Additional Information Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules Orientation includes approximately 4-5 hours of non-billable modules completed via electronic transcripts Must reside 100 miles from the hospital's service area to be eligible for this position Local candidates within the radius are not accepted RTO must be submitted for consideration First-time travelers may be considered depending on candidate qualifications American Traveler Job ID P-740465.
