Job Title: Azure Data Architect

Location: Remote

Requirement: 12+ years in data architecture/engineering, with demonstrable time as a hands-on architect on enterprise-scale migration programmes

Azure (core)

Deep, hands-on Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Synapse - assessing, applying, and mentoring others on correct use

Legacy Oracle / SQL Server

legacy analysis, schema mapping and decommissioning strategy

Patterns

Bulk load frameworks, topic-based near-real-time synchronization, ETL/ELT, reconciliation and validation at production scale

Data modelling

Conceptual, logical, and physical modelling; source-to-target mapping; metadata management

Governance

Data quality frameworks, data retention, privacy-by-design; alignment to client's Technology Code of Practice

Ways of working

Agile delivery in a multidisciplinary, multi-vendor team; comfortable with ambiguity and shared decision rights

Stakeholder

Proven ability to operate credibly with client senior leadership and translate between business and engineering audiences

Preferences: Public sector / government digital delivery experience, ideally Canadian provincial

Prior experience on registry, licensing, or citizen-identity data domains

Eligibility for provincial government security clearance
