Job Summary for Radiation Therapist:


- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
- Accurately position patients for treatment and ensure proper immobilization devices are used.
- Monitor patients during therapy for adverse reactions and report any concerns to medical staff.
- Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records and documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols to protect patients, self, and team from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Collaborate with medical physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment procedures.
- Float to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses as needed, performing only tasks and duties for which competency has been demonstrated and documented.
- Work Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, at the specified Columbia location (7 Richland Medical Park Dr.).
