We understand that pets are family, and each patient is seen by one of our experienced doctors to ensure attentive, individualized, and high-quality care at every visit.Whether your visit is for a routine wellness exam or a more complex diagnostic consultation, our team is here to support your pet's health at every stage of life—while making each visit as comfortable and reassuring as possible.Veterinary Lead TechnicianByram Animal Hospital in Byram Township, NJSalary: $20.00 - $25.00 depending on experienceWhat You'll DoAssisting the Doctors in appointmentsTake patient histories from clients for appointmentsTechnician appointmentsCommunicating with clients via phone and in-personExecuting treatment orders, canine and Feline vaccine knowledge and scheduleDemonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting and/or exam roomsAnswers client's inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine proceduresEducates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventionsThis position requires the ability to sit, walk, squat, bend, stand, reach, lift and typeFollow up appointmentsMonitor anesthesia for patients undergoing a variety of surgical proceduresPerform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology and bandagingProvide comfort, love, and a skilled hand to patientsTask delegationBe efficient with time managementAssist with staff schedulingParticipate in management meetings as neededPromote an ethical working environmentWork as a team with hospital leadership to promote and develop collaborative patient care, client service, and financial/medical goalsCustomer service in all forms - interacting face to face, occasionally answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with client's post-visit, and educating clients and empowering them to provide the best care to their pets (Experience with Avimark a plus)Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line systemClearly communicate your findings to a doctor, refraining from making a diagnosisUnderstand how to prep and monitor animals for surgical proceduresDraw blood samples.
