Seeking an Attorney to handle workers' compensation defense matters throughout California and will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, interact directly with clients, and handle a variety of litigation responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle workers' compensation defense matters throughout California and will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, interact directly with clients, and handle a variety of litigation responsibilities
• Independently manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with minimal supervision
• Represent clients in workers' compensation matters before the WCAB
• Prepare for and conduct depositions, including cross-examinations
• Conduct witness interviews and develop case strategies
• Handle hearings, appearances, and law and motion matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and analyze workers' compensation issues
• Communicate regularly with clients and provide timely case updates
• Maintain responsive and professional client relationships
• Deliver consistently high-quality legal work while meeting case deadlines

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license and good standing with the California State Bar required
• At least 1 year of workers' compensation defense experience preferred
• Experience managing a caseload with minimal supervision
• Strong deposition and advocacy skills
• Experience appearing at hearings and handling law and motion practice
• Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong commitment to client service and quality of work
• This position is ideal for a self-motivated and organized attorney who can independently manage a caseload while maintaining a strong commitment to client service and high-quality legal work.
• Attorneys without traditional workers' compensation experience may be considered if they can demonstrate strong transferable litigation skills and the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
